The Court Master's Office hears and administers the following types of cases on behalf of the Fourth Judicial District Court:

Child support enforcement cases (originating with the District Attorney's Office or the Nevada State Welfare Division; these are cases beginning with the caption "DR-UI");
Protective orders against domestic violence;
Juvenile restraining orders;
Juvenile dependency cases (initiated pursuant to NRS 432B involving the removal of children from their parents or guardians due to allegations of abuse or neglect);
Juvenile delinquency and child in need of supervision cases;
Juvenile Drug Court;
Truancy Court; and
Teen Court.

The Court Master's Office does not handle divorce cases or custody and/or visitation matters. These cases are assigned to one of the three District Court Judges.
